AI judging is off for your account. Used Cars and Marketplace
still find new listings for you and show how each price compares with similar
listings, without an AI picking out the exceptional deals. Job Hunt uses a free

How to use this tab
This tab reads your Canvas grades once a day and draws
each class as a line, so you can see which way a grade is moving rather than
just where it is today.
1. Connect Canvas
In Canvas, open Account (your picture, far left) then
Settings.
Scroll to Approved Integrations and click
+ New Access Token.
For Purpose put something you’ll recognise, like
“PegBoard Grade Tracker”.
Leave the expiry date blank to make it last as long as your school
allows, or set one — either way PegBoard reads the date back from
Canvas and warns you before it runs out.
Click Generate Token, then copy the long string it
shows you.
Paste it into the box below and press Connect.
Copy it straight away. Canvas shows
the full token once and never again — if you lose it, delete that token
and generate another.
The token stays on the PegBoard server. It is never
sent back to this page, and nobody else’s account can see it.
Any school’s Canvas works — it is whatever is in
your browser’s address bar when you are signed in, for example
wvm.instructure.com or canvas.yourcollege.edu.
Pasting the whole page address is fine; the rest is trimmed off.
2. Which classes show
Canvas counts things like Student Services and training
modules as classes, so anything that has never been graded starts hidden. Open
Manage tab to switch any of them on or off, and to pick each
class’s colour. Grades are recorded for every class either way, so
switching one on later shows its full history.
3. Classes Canvas doesn’t total up
Some teachers never post a running grade. Tap the
✎ next to a class under the graph and switch
Where this grade comes from over to
worked out by hand. Every class starts on Canvas; only the ones you
switch are yours to fill in.
Then set your categories and their weights from the
syllabus — Homework 30, Tests 50, Final 20. They don’t have to add
up to 100; they’re shared out proportionally, and a category with nothing
in it yet is left out rather than counted as a zero. Add each mark from the bar
at the top as points out of points, like 27 / 30, and pick which category it
belongs to. Points are pooled across a category, so 27/30 and 45/50 make 72/80.
If your syllabus drops your lowest quiz, tap
∅ on that mark: it stays on the list, greyed out, and
stops counting. Tap it again to count it. Switching a class back to Canvas
leaves everything you typed exactly where it is — it just stops being
used, and Canvas’s figure comes back at the next check.
4. Notifications
Grades are checked once a day, and you are only told when
one moves by more than the amount you set under Manage tab.
Every class that moved arrives in a single notification. The time of day it
arrives is set in the app’s own notification settings, on the home
screen.
A class you keep by hand never notifies.
You typed the marks in, so you watched the total move as you entered them
— being told about it hours later would be noise.
5. The graph
The chart fits itself to whatever you have recorded, so
it starts tight in the first week and widens as the term fills in — the
whole semester is always on screen. Once there is more than a couple of weeks
of history, 2W and 1M buttons appear for
looking at just the recent part.
6. Ending a semester
The usual way is to set the last day of term
under Manage tab and then forget about it: the semester files
itself on that date, after that day’s grades have been read, so the final
figures are the ones kept. Filed semesters keep their own graph below the
current one and the new term starts empty. Saving one by hand is there for when
a term ends early or you never set a date.
Grades
Canvas totals this class up, so
there is nothing to enter. Switch it on above if your teacher doesn’t
post a running grade — then you can set up categories and type your
marks in yourself, and this tab will work the total out.

Add a category first —
then marks go into it from the bar above.

Weights don’t have to add up to
100 — they’re shared out proportionally, and a category with nothing
in it yet is left out until it has marks. Points are added up across a
category, so 27/30 and 45/50 make 72/80. Tap ∅ on a mark to stop it
counting without deleting it.

Your classes
Canvas counts things like Student Services and training
modules as classes, so anything never graded is hidden to begin with. Turn
any of them on or off here, and tap a colour square to change that
class’s line. Grades carry on being recorded for every class either
way, so switching one on later brings its full history with it.
End of semester
Set the last day of term and the semester saves itself on
that date — after that day’s grades are read, so the final figures
are the ones kept. You don’t need to come back and press anything.

Tracking
Off means pings are thrown away as they arrive: the map goes
empty and no alerts are sent. Days already recorded are kept and come back when you
turn it on again.
0 turns the warning off. Never between 10pm and 8am, and an
outage is announced twice at most.
Your location history
What's collected: your phone's
position, time, speed and battery, from the trackers you set up.
Who can see it: only you, on devices where you've entered your
password. The admin can turn the Journal off for you but can't see your map.
Turning tracking off stops collection at the server: pings are thrown away when
they arrive, not hidden.
Keep my history for
Older days are deleted for good once a day. Spots you've named,
noted, hidden or merged are always kept.
1. Device keys
One key per app, so adding a tracker never disconnects the one
you already have. The key is shown once, in the links below — paste it before you
close this.
2. The main tracker — pick one
This is the app that reports all day. Every gap so far has been
iOS killing it, so also do step 3 — that is the part that survives.
OwnTracks what you use now
Install OwnTracks from the App Store.
Copy this link:
OwnTracks → Settings → Mode = HTTP,
paste the link into URL.
On the map screen, tap the monitoring icon until it reads Move.
Move catches short stops; Significant uses far less battery but misses them.
iPhone Settings → OwnTracks: Location Always,
Precise Location on, Background App Refresh on.
Overland more reliable, worth trying
Free and open source. It uses the location APIs iOS
relaunches an app for after killing it, and it buffers everything on the
phone, so an outage arrives late instead of never. Coarser points than Move mode.
Install Overland from the App Store.
Settings → Receiver Endpoint — paste the link above.
Turn Tracking on, leave the batch size at its default.
iPhone Settings → Overland: Location Always, Precise on.
Run it alongside OwnTracks for a week — both feed the same Journal, and the
source list above shows which one is actually keeping up.
Traccar Client alternative
Install Traccar Client.
Server URL — paste the link above. Leave the device identifier as is;
the key in the link is what identifies you here.
Set frequency to about 30 seconds and turn the service on.
3. Keep the tracker awake
iOS kills background apps, and a killed tracker records nothing.
The automation that fixes this doesn't need your location at all — it just
reopens the tracker, which is the thing that was actually missing.
That also sidesteps the “took too long to run” error, because opening an
app is instant.
The recipe 30 seconds each
Shortcuts app → Automation → +.
Pick a trigger from the table below.
Add one action: Open App → Overland.
Turn Ask Before Running off (newer iOS: Run Immediately).
That's the whole automation. No location, no URL, no key
— nothing that can time out.

Walking trips, and any car that isn't yours
Bluetooth: car connects
Same as CarPlay, if you ever drive without it
CarPlay on its own only covers driving. The
10.5-hour hole on 25 Sep began at 00:59 at home, on a flat battery — no CarPlay
trigger would have touched it until the next drive. The charger pair is the one that
catches that.
Check it actually fired
Lock the phone, connect CarPlay, then look at the source list in
step 1: the tracker's last fix should jump to just now. iOS can hold
Open App until the phone is unlocked, and if that turns out to be happening
here, add the location-posting version below as well — that one runs locked.
Optional: also drop a pin (the older beacon recipe)
Useful when you want a mark even if the tracker never wakes.
Add these after the Open App action, and set the location accuracy low or it
will time out.
Add Get Current Location, then tap it and set accuracy to
Hundred Meters — a sharp fix can take longer than iOS allows.
Add Get Contents of URL with the link above: method
POST, body JSON, fields lat = Latitude,
lon = Longitude, event = a name like car-on.
Pins sent this way are marked as beacons, never as a tracker: one
firing five minutes ago will not stop the “no location” warning if the real
tracker has been dead for hours.
Battery — the failure nobody expects
A tracker can fail by working too hard. Overland arrived
logging a fix every 2.7 seconds, 85% of them while parked, and pulled about 10% of
battery an hour; the phone hit 10% at 00:59 and took the next 10.5 hours with it.
Sampling that often buys nothing — a stop needs a fix every minute or so, not
every three seconds.
In Overland's settings, turn the sampling down: prefer its
significant-change / visits behaviour over any continuous or trip mode, and raise the
distance or interval between points. The source list in step 1 shows the rate and the
battery, so you can see the effect within an hour.
Batch size and interval — they multiply
Locations per batch is how many points ride in
one upload; time between points is how often a point is taken.
Multiply them and you get how long data sits on the phone before you see it:
Interval
Batch
Data arrives

30 min
50

what to aim for
A stop needs a fix about once a minute to be seen at all: at one
point every 30 minutes, a shop visit, a pickup and a red light are indistinguishable,
and the day's line becomes a few straight jumps. Keep the interval near a minute and
the batch small enough that uploads land every ten minutes or so. The source list
shows last checked in beside the last fix whenever the two disagree, which is
how a too-large batch shows itself.
4. Home
Time at home isn't a stop, and each day runs from leaving home to
getting back.
5. Stop detection
Stops between the two times are judged by how you moved: turning
around, pulling off the road, or stopping at an address counts; waiting at a light doesn't.
6. How the Journal reads your day
Bars, pins and naming places
Stops are grouped into bars — one bar per
visit — and a bar ends where you drove. A mall keeps every shop as its
own pin inside one bar; a 500 m drive to a burger place starts a new one.
Name it on a bar saves that place, so it is named by itself next
time. Each pin can take a label and a note, and Merge / Hide clean up GPS drift.
When a day starts and ends
A day runs wake-to-wake: it ends when the longest still stretch
of 3 hours or more that happens after dark ends — when you get up and
move off. Camping splits at break-camp, not mid-morning. If you were moving all
night it falls back to the hour set above, so a 1:30am drive home still belongs to
the night before.
The map itself
Route draws the day's line, coloured from
the start of the day to its end. Filtered stops reveals the ones judged to be
traffic, each with Keep as a stop if it was wrong.
Fit day re-centres on everything. Map / Satellite
is remembered. Play day lights the pins in order.
Under it all, the to-dos you ticked off that day.
7. If it goes quiet
Checklist
Check the source list in step 1: which tracker stopped, and when.
Open the tracker app. If it starts reporting the moment you open it, iOS had
killed it — that is the usual cause and nothing was recorded meanwhile.
OwnTracks: is it still on Move? A restart can drop it back.
iPhone Settings → the app: Location Always, Precise on,
Background App Refresh on.
Low Power Mode suspends background work — it switches
itself on at 20%, which is usually when tracking dies.
A dead battery records nothing at all. The day will show
Patchy — no location for N hours so you know the map is incomplete
rather than empty.
